A reminder that the Cambridge Film Festival will be taking place again this year from the 13th - 23rd September 2012.

Although the programme has not yet been fully finalised, their website: www.cambridgefilmfestival.org.uk is still well worth a  look, as it contains programmes from previous years to give you an idea of what to expect, as well as a regularly-updated blog announcing events as they are confirmed, and the opportunity to sign up to their newsletter.
A particular highlight will be the Festival's programme of outdoor screenings (many of which will be free) over the Summer months, in the lead-up to the official programme dates. Outdoor screenings will be taking place all over Cambridgeshire at exciting outdoor venues such as Grantchester Meadows, free silent film screenings along the streets, including Magdalene Street, the outdoor pool on Jesus Green, on the roof of Varsity Hotel and all sorts of other exotic places. Many screenings are free, and should appeal to all those who like extreme cinema! My personal favourite will definitely be the screening of 'The Woman in Black' as the darkness and fog descends on Grantchester Meadows, late at night - talk about atmosphere!!

The first event to kick off the Festival's Summer of Film will be pop-up cinema showing specially-selected feature films and locally-produced shorts, at the Big Weekend in Cambridge, taking place on Parker's Piece on the 7th & 8th July, as part of the Olympic torch celebrations.

So, a lot to look forward to this Summer!
